Our stay in New Zealand is drawing to its end. We spent the last two days in Auckland. Auckland is a very fun vibrant city and the biggest in NZ with 1.3 million people living here.
We went up in the Sky Tower. Last time Bob and I were in Auckland, almost 12 years ago, the Sky Tower was just recently opened. Now it has become the most popular site in Auckland. It's close to 400 meters high and the thrill seeking Kiwis sky dive from it (of course). We didn't. We also didn't take the sky walk when you walk on the outside around the top of the tower. It was enough to walk over the glass floor!
The evening ended with great sushi and then back to the hotel. The Quadrant hotel was the nicest hotel so far. Located right down town we had two separate bedrooms, small living room, kitchen and laundry room (!) In New Zealand it's easy to find hotel rooms with separate bedrooms and kitchen but this definitely was the most luxurious one.
