Dolphin Rescue!

The excitement continues! Today Bob and Nick woke the rest of us up with the news that there was a stranded dolphin on the beach right outside the house. We rushed down and sure enough, there he was.  When we got to the scene people from the Turtle Rescue Society were already there. Soon SeaWorld staff came and while we were waiting for a truck to come we helped keep the dolphin wet as well as shaded.

The truck came with a saltwater pool in the back to take the dolphin to Miami for treatment. It was a very exciting day and it seems like the dolphin is going to make it!
The dolphin was 8'3" long (253cm!)

We came in to Melbourne Beach last night after an uneventful airplane ride. After 12 hours sleep we woke up and hit the beach. The fun didn't last long, though. Nick was stung by a Portugese Man O'War and we had to go to the doctor. The nice doctor Netter helped him feel a lot better and now we're back in business.
We're looking in to getting baseball tickets for tomorrow (the Tigers have spring training here in Florida) but the girls and I might just stay here by the beach. Life doesn't get much better than this!

Thank you Jon for the sign!

Ready or not...here we go!

It's February 23 and we are on our way. The trip hasn't officially started yet but the adventure has begun. We haven't gotten far yet, actually we're at a hotel by the airport but tomorrow at 6am we fly out of SeaTAc airport on to Florida. Stay tuned!
