Another Trip Down Memory Lane

Today we had a great day. John Driscoll, a friend from Brussels came and picked us up at the hotel. John used to be in the Army and we knew him when we lived here in Brussels. He married a Belgian girl, Isabelle, and they now live in Mons.

John took us all over today. First we went to Bob's old job at Nato where we stopped in for ice cream and coffee.

Then we drove to Steerebek where Ilse's father lives. We stopped in to say hi and especially Nick was very fascinated by all the remote control airplanes he has.

Next stop was the Scandinavian School of Brussels where I used to work. The school looked great, a lot of improvements since I was there last. And luckily two people I know happened to be there, Elisabeth and Marianne. It was great to see them again. The kids also enjoyed meeting Elisabeth's dog, Luddix.

Lastly we met up with Isabelle at a great little restaurant in Waterloo for an excellent dinner. Great end to a great day. And actually the day hasn't ended for Bob yet. He and John dropped us off at the hotel and went over to James Joyce, an Irish pub we used to go to. I hope he is back before the train leaves for London at 8AM tomorrow:)
